Dove Releases are also used for funerals. At the end of a committal service family members and friends may release Doves.

The flock ascends into the sky and circles away. Moments later a single White Dove, representing the loved ones spirit is then released by a family member. The spirit Dove joins the flock and together they make the spiritual journey home.

When Jesus was baptized in the river Jordan, the spirit of God descended upon him in bodily shape like a Dove (St Luke 3:22). The figure of the Dove is therefore used as an emblem of the Holy Spirit.
